JOSH BLACK
What can we say about Josh Black that hasn't already been said by his legions of female admirers. The man, the myth, the legend, the finest woodchuck hunter this side of the Mississippi has been drumming since before he could crawl, preferring the sweet sounds of Light Jazz over the more raunchy jelly roll of Rock n' Roll, but me thinks his soul doth do trickery on his mind for banging away as Makar's drummer for a gig at CBGBs and Luna Lounge, the man seemed to be in his element.

Unfortunately the publishing world has layed claim to him. And hey we understand, because frankly it's good to have a job that actually pays enough for him and his missus to eat. But all these talented musicians with other callings has got to stop! First Jorge then Josh!! By gummit!!

Josh Black was born down South just a stones throw from the Bayou and loves a good slab O' woodchuck when he can get him some good eats. It's not easy when you're living in the big apple to go small game hunting in Central Park but he attempts it every now and again when he gets a real hunkering.

Josh came to Makar via an intro from cabaret singing sensation Matthew Hume who admitted that he wouldn't want to meet Josh down a dark alley cause he looks scary. I say he looks more scary in the daylight, but that's neither here nor there. From the start the good old boy challenged us all with his excellent sense of time and his blistering drum fills that would sometimes overwhelm the PA. But it was his prodigous ability to hold large quantities of moonshine while drumming or doing anything for that matter that really floored us! And he's flat out the loudest drummer we've ever heard. Whacks them pig skins like they was woodchuck trying to scamper away. Rascally little varmits!

Josh recently married his sweetheart, a Southern Belle by the name of Katie, who is working towards being a fashion designing sensation. They're currently living in and loving Astoria! We miss the Josh man's drumming, but wish he and his wife every success.
